Jeremiah joins the California Rangeland Trust as its new transaction director. He hails from San Antonio, Texas where he worked for Texas A&M University’s Natural Resources Institute as the director of the Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Unit. This role involved managing a natural resource research cooperative of 12 federal agencies and 50 university/NGO partners along the Gulf Coast from Texas to Florida.
Prior to that position he served as the land transaction director for the Texas Agricultural Land Trust where he oversaw policy, outreach and transaction work related to donated, purchased, and mitigation easement projects throughout the state. Before he entered the land conservation field, he was in private practice where he worked on agricultural law, water law, farm and ranch real estate law, and estate planning matters.
Jeremiah earned a bachelor of science in agricultural development from Texas A&M University and a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law. To date, he has served 16 years (active and reserve) in the United States Marine Corps.
