Hanson Ranch

The Hanson ranch encompanses 14,032 acres of gently rolling hills and valleys between steep canyons covered with grasses. The easement protects critical habitat for the California red-legged frog and several bird species including the red-tailed hawk. The ranch also contains important riparian and watershed habitat that is home to numerous species of wildlife and native plants, safeguards scenic views of Highway 101 and Highway 1 and protects 6-8 stream crossings on the property and headwater drainage to the Santa Ynez River and Gaviota Creek.
